Known as the Black Cherry Capital of the World, Kane sits along the Allegheny Plateau in rural northwestern Pennsylvania. Fertile conditions, thick forest cover, and a strong logging industry established Kane’s predominance at the turn of the 20th century.
The Allegheny region around Kane, Pennsylvania is responsible for producing one-fourth of the Black Cherry grown in the United States. The highest quality Cherry veneer in the world can be traced back to the Black Cherry timber harvested within a fifty mile radius of Kane.
